I second the idea of enduring the GPA a la Kasparov:

See the game Forster-Kasparov, Zurich 2001 and Tiviakov-Kasparov, Corus 2001

Interestingly, both Short and Adams chose to continue with the Closed.  See the games Short-Kasparov, Zurich 2001; Short-Kasparov, Corus 2000; and Adams-Kasparov, Linares 1999.

I am a die hard Najdorf player myself. I see it exactly the way you said, i.e. there are 3 main options:

a) Learn another open sicilian (with Nc6, e.g. Acc. Dragon) - I will do this when I will be really in need to expand my repertoire,

b) Play e5, but the position is a bit alien & dry,

c) Endure the inferior version of the Grand Prix, which is what I currently do. It turned out to be much better than I initially expected and this is my recomendation to you. Afterall, the Sicilian is not busted by the improved Grand Prix, it's just that your defence needs to be more accurate..

Let's say you are a die hard Najdorf player and white begins 1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 what now? if you go 2...Nc6 White can follow 3.Nge2 to play 4.d4 and all of a suden you are out of the Najdorf in an open siclian. So you play 1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 d6 and White goes 3.f4 and you are in an inferior line of the Grand Prix. What should I do? Do you think that the answer is 1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.Nge2 e5!!?
Please help me out of this problem Wink
