As I had given up the Broncos for dead weeks ago, anything postitive...ANYTHING--is gravy at this point.  I'm just happy they played an exciting game for a change.  Whatever happens in the playoffs (with or without them), I think they have something to build upon and things to look forward to next year.

P.S. The defense is playing atrocious football.  John Lynch made some nice stops, and Champ holds his own on the corner, but their front line is not good.  They don't get pressure on the QB, and they get tired ALOT.  WAY TOO TIRED if you ask me.  How much do they get paid again?

Well,

Cincy gave us a nice Christmas gift by missing the "automatic" point after touchdown (PAT) kick.  I felt pretty sure that we could win in OT if we won the coin toss.  But the way Cincy drove down the field when they had to was scary.

Our current QB looks good if we allow for two interceptions/fumbles a game.  But our defense is looking very weak against the run and in the middle.  I expect us to beat San Fran, but this isn't last year's 49ers.

I wonder if we can back in to the play-offs with a Jets loss?

Happy Christmas!

I hope you're wrong, too.   Smiley

Remember in the Seahawks thread when I said the Broncos were due for an up and down season? Well, it seems to have been true.  I just thought it would be little ups and downs, not big up, big down.  Maybe were due for a big up again? How about 6 wins in a row from here?  That ought to be enough to lock up a Lombardi.  Ah, the reveries of the orange and blue...

Is there medication available for a Broncos apologist who suffers from violent spasms of homerism?  Nah, I wouldn't want to take it anyway.

Cutler's looking much better now that he's played against the Cardinals.  Elway's first games showed what a great talent he was.  We learned in Elway's first three games that the Broncos needed to get thicker gloves for its receivers and the defenders needed to learn how to duck!

I fear that Cutler's first three games have shown that he has the potential to be as good as Plummer.  (I hope I'm wrong.)

I'm tired of posting about the Broncos on the Seattle Seahawks thread.  They deserve their own thread.

Topic of conversation:

The Broncos' season is down the toilet.  They would have had a better shot at the Super Bowl THIS YEAR by drafting Lawrence Maroney instead of Jay Cutler.  Maybe next year things will be good, but this one's over.  Of course, hindsight is 20/20.  Anand shouldn't have played the Open Lopez vs. Kasparov, maybe the Petroff instead.  Short shouldn't have played the Marshall Anti-Marshall vs. Kasparov, etc., etc...
