Like Tony, I'm not sure how useful Osnos would be to a club-player. I think there was once an Easy Guide to the Reti, but certainly Nigel Davies' 'The Dynamic Reti' has a good balance of theoretical coverage and explanation, although it is a repertoire book rather than one which aims at complete coverage.

Yes, it does sound like an expanded version of the one I have, but it was the smaller one I 'reviewed' on the Flank Openings section. Smiley

Yes, but Osnos published a second book on this opening in 1990 of about 320 pages.  Is is part of the russian series teoria debyutov.  Surely, given the number of pages, this is quite a different book and it is this one my question is about.

Yes, I've got it! Shocked
It is a small old-style, pre-chessbase openings book, published in 1982, and doesn't explain that much in the way of plans. I really couldn't recommend it, nowadays there are so many better choices.

Tony Kosten mentions a book by Osnos on the Reti and briefly describes it.  Has anyone read the book?  Does it contain explanations on typical plans and ideas?
