I am rated approximately 2025 Elo, I am better in open positions with lots of tactics and I always play for the win.
My choice is playing 1. e4
French: 3.Nc3
3....Nf6 4.e5 Steinitz variation(difficult to play for me because the opening is often veery strategic but I want to learn to play chess and I believe in this opining)
3...Bb4 Winaver
3.. other moves
=> I follow the suggestions of Khalifman Anand repertoire book
Caro Can:
3. Nc3 dxe4 4.Nxe4
4...Bf5(name of the variation?) 5.Ng3 Lh5 6. h4 h6 Nh3!? with a setup (Nf4,Lc4, Qe2, 0-0-0)
4...Nf6 5.Nxf6 gxf6(exf6 I play also the mainline) 6.c3 Bf5 7.Nf3 e6 8.g3
Pirc:
I want to play the Austrian attack or the classical but I don't want to prepare much for the pirc.
Czech:
5.Qe2 is strong
Sicilian:
I used to play the closed Sicillian with a good score but against stronger opposition I want to play the open Sicillian and after some time I want to switch from the closed to the open completely.
Najdorf:
I want to try 6.Bg5 and I have the book experts vs the sicilian and I think there are good recommendations
Dragon:
0-0-0 mainline because it is less theorie than Bc4 although I thing Bc4 might be better
=> experts vs the sicillian
Rauzer:
Bg5 mainlines
Kalashnikov:
I don't know, I appreciate suggestions
Sweshnikov:
I don't know, I appreciate suggestions
Paulsen:
perhabs I follow the suggestions of experts vs the sicillian
1. e4 e5 2.Nf3
Petroff:
2...Nf6 3. Nxe5 d6 4.Nf3 Nx4 5.Nc3 => following Topalov
2... Nc6
either the Spanish exchange or Bc4 Bc5(Nf6 Ng5)
Scandinavian:
No need to prepare much, Shirov has good games as white in the skandinavian
Studyplan:
First I want to learn the Bg5 Najdorf Sicilian then the Rauzer and the dragon and then e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bc4 Nf6 Ng5 because I think the sicilians are much more difficult to play without knowing the theorie as the french or caro cann and I already know much more about these other openings, so I will begin with the Najdorf.
Suggestions, oppinions are welcome
Tom
