Does your Rybka work well with CB? When I tried to buy it from the London Chess Centre, I was advised not to (!) because they were thinking of not giving support to purchasers because there were so many problems getting it to run properly.

No problems so far, although I've not really thrashed it enough to say it "works well".

I contacted the Rybka support once to get upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3 online and they came back straight away, but I don't know how responsive they are to problems.

I also use CB9 and Rybka and never had any problems. The installation went smoothly and I am very pleased with the engine. I regularly let it run in parallel with Fritz10 and Zanzibar and it is amazing to see the difference in evaluation.

If you have an issue you can also go to http://www.rybkaforum.com
Vasik Rajlich is often online discussing bugs and other aspects of Rybka.

It works quite well with me using it in the Fritz9 environment.

I guess "not giving support" may simply mean that they don't want to be blamed if anything doesn't work.

Does anyone know of a shortcut to do this , I mean, without feeding in a whole game... (Tedious, especially as it is mostly the late middlegame I'm interested in...)

My Rybka is hooked into the Chessbase/Fritz interface, so I can just enter a postion with that.

But does it take that long to feed in a game?

Probably could have done it in the time taken to write a post on this forum  Wink
