I've only played on the now-defunct chessfriend.com and on IECG. Saw no need to try anywhere else after IECG since it is free and it works

IECG is worth a mention. Free, easy to join and very professionally run. Large membership, some of whom play both on ICCF and IECG. That said the overall standard of IECG cannot match ICCF although there are some very good players there. Those above 2200 will probably want to test themselves on ICCF, but those below may find IECG more to their liking.

ICCF.  Massive and international membership, too.  They host some excellent and competitive tournaments and thematics ones as well.  In addition, you do not need to be a member of your national organization.  The alternative, of course, if you have not played correspondence chess before is to join your national organization and play in one of their tournaments...

ICCF - because of 5 days a move on average. You don't have to worry about time trouble, if you want to analyse a difficult position for 20 days or more.
