About twenty years ago, I read a book called "Holländisch bis Bird Eröffnung" written by Taimanov but I did not find it so interesting as Taylor's one (in fact it was quite boring).

For goodness' sake, don't tell MNb you said that ...

OK, correction: the part on the dutch was nice but the chapter on the Bird was very boring
Do you think it is better so? Huh

I prefer the slightly older Damengambit bis Holländisch. Grudgingly I have to admit, that the chapter on the Bird is not the best one.
Of course I have to mention that other prolific writer of golden oldies. Some 40 years ago Rolf Schwarz wrote an entire volume on the Bird. If it is not in Taylor's bibliography, it is certainly worth searching for. I will not repeat once again my opinion on Schwarz, as Alumbrado has been unsettled enough for today. It is enough to say I am positive.
But then again, like Nyoke I am becoming a rereader ....

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Boring ? I find the old books on the whole better than most of the recent ones. Somehow they've gotten shallower in a way...
(But it can be me, of course. I'm becoming less and less of a reader and more and more of a rereader...)

As far as I know the 'Polar Bear' is a rist of internet lectures by Danielsen...

Indeed, check out http://www.videochess.net/.

A really interesting link. Thanks for the information Smiley

My impression is that the Danielsen book never materialised.

I recall reading about an old book "Larsen spiller Bird" ("Larsen plays the Bird"), but maybe it was just something like a pamphlet of his games ...

Except Taylor's book, could someone recommend another book about Bird's opening. About twenty years ago, I read a book called "Holländisch bis Bird Eröffnung" written by Taimanov but I did not find it so interesting as Taylor's one (in fact it was quite boring).
I have read in different threads something about a book (?) written by Danielsen. Where could I find this?
