ANyone opinions about the book? Have you had a deeper look? Thinking about purchasing the ebook
Well, I have quickly played through many of the lines in the ebook (this of course is a great advantage of the ebook format, enormously efficient).
I am rated approx. 2000 FIDE and my main defense has been the Nimzo and the occasionally Benko. But I wanted to simplify my life and play the Slav. I had experimented a bit with it on ICC after minimal study, but I was ready for some serious study.
My conclusion, and it is a personal preference, is that I do not like the resulting positions in the (e)book. If I were stronger(than I am), and looking for draws against higher rated opponents perhaps I would give it a go. But my opinion is that in many of the lines, Black has to be quite strong technically to hold the tough end of the draw.
Now this is not the book's fault, perhaps it is the nature of the Slav.
One thing I did find odd about the ebook is that many of the lines (from games)ended say at move 18-- I had expected that in an ebook all the game moves would be there - but I suppose it is an exact replica of the printed book.
