Hi,
everyman says : Out now!!

greetings

wolfsblut

So it seems - the hard copy at least. I guess they shelved the plans to release the e-book first. What a shame. I thought that was a very progressive idea.

As Bibs says, it's out of my hands now, but I have corrected the proofs, so I don't expect too much further delay...

Er - yeah, I have emailed them. No response.  I know it's not the writer's fault, but as Everyman didn't respond I guess the posters here were hoping James might have some news on it, were he reading the forums at all.  Otherwise we'll just have to sit tight.

No, I want the crutches and I want them NOW.  Angry

It would be more likely that the book isn't 'fermenting' as such - it's probably been completed for months - it's being held up by the publishers for reasons unknown and it's content is simply dating that bit quicker.  Everyman hate us.
Incidentally, I was bored enough to call them (after no email response) but they only have an answerphone.

Maybe there's a problem.  Maybe James found that there was a refutation to the whole defence that has been overlooked.

I think it may be better for all that the book sits and ferments while some of the lines remain so volatile.

In the meantime, there is nothing wrong with coming up with our own ideas instead of waiting for the new pair of crutches, er, I mean literature to digest.   Grin

I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission.

Per Everyman, the ebook was supposed to available on the website this past week. Obviously, this did not come to pass.

I hope the book appears soon. I've tried everything I could think of against 1.Nf3 & 2 c4 (I am a grunfeld player)

1) The slav
2) The semislav
3) The grunfeld approach, anyway
4) The KID

Looked at too:

The Chigorin
The QGA
The Tarrasch

I was more comfortable with the Slav (I have Flear, Schipkov, Sadler's book on the Slav) although a loss to Pogorelov ages ago made me abandon it. No counterplay that I was comfortable with.

Problem is all these defences have their difficulties. The recent book by Vigorito is slightly annoying: no real answers (a bit like Lalic's Grunfeld ---> This was really pathetic)

Against some players I've also tried the Dutch, but the early anti-Leningrad systems (and anti dutch in general) are pretty scary and difficult to meet!

So: fed up about being move ordered but finding the main line (6.e3) slightly passive for black. No much play if white just wants a draw...

I sent an email on Friday morning to Everyman asking about this but have had no response yet.  It was in the 'Coming Soon' section early on in the week, now it's disappeared again.... Huh

so far I have read 01. May as a release date at "Schachversand Niggemann" and 31. May at "amazon.de".

Maybe Vigus can help us with a detailed release-date, anyhow, hopefully soon!  Wink

Has anyone heard anything new on this book? Everyman was making a big deal on their webpage saying "Coming in March" and that it was supposed to be their first book available in electronic format before the printed version. Now its been changed to "Coming Soon" and nothing about the ebook being out first. I've really been looking forward to this book, but it looks as though the wait will be a bit longer.
