I saw a listing that indicated that Eingorn's was coming in at less than 112 pages. That's a cause for concern - isn't it? Can you give (these days) even a reliable intro to the Classical, Tarrasch, Advance, and Exchange in that amount of space?

I'm really looking forward to that book, the Articles of Moskalenko in NIC in the last 2 years were absolutely great.

Yes ghenghisclown, they put one more after I look at the site. I liked very much the presentation of Kazim in the King´s Indian and these on the French must be very good too. 
I talked about Byron Jacobs book only because it could be a good beginner start in the French, but I agree that Eigorn book must be very good and I am curious about Moskalenko work, because recently he wrote an impressive book on the Budapest Gambit.

They are Chessbase DVDs so you can get them from...Chessbase.

It is not a new book but a DVD. Kasimdzhanov made Beating the French 1 and 2. In the first he talks about: 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 Bb4 4.e5 and in the second: 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.e5 Nfd7 5.f4 c5 6.Nf3 Nc6 7.Be3.

Suspect is indeed a translation of an old book, though even if not, shouldn't get too excited re: Jacobs' book. His books have been rather run of the mill thus far imho, plus he seems to play about as much as El Raymondo.

There is a new book by Byron Jacobs in Spanish called: La Defensa Francesa ISBN: 978-84-935454-9-9.
I do not know if this book will be available in english soon.  Roll Eyes
