For those interested in biographical stuff (which the initiator of thread did not ask for, I know), there is a 16 page chapter on Kholmov in Sosonko's Smart Chip from St. Petersburg - text only, no games.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that Kholmov's at chessgames.com are to find at: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessplayer?pid=15362

Yusupov once said that “The problem with the Dutch Defence is that later in many positions the best move would be ...f5-f7” but he is surely wrong.

At chessgames.com, you can find 2,267 games plaid by Kholmov.
Their brief biography about him says: RATMIR KHOLMOV (born May-13-1925, died Feb-18-2006) Russia
Ratmir Dmitrievich Kholmov was born on May 13, 1925 in Shenkursk. He learned chess at age 12, and it took him only a couple of years to reach master level. He played in the final of the Soviet Championship sixteen times between 1948 and 1972. In 1963 he tied for first in this event with Boris Spassky and Leonid Stein (who ultimately won the playoff). Two years later he scored one of his finest international results, finishing joint second, undefeated, at the 21-round Capablanca Memorial in Havana. A formidable attacking player, he was able to record victories against Tigran Vartanovich Petrosian, Boris Spassky, Robert James Fischer and Garry Kasparov during a distinguished career that remained in progress until his death in 2006.

You can also have a look at the site of the Russian Chess House (Russkiy centralnyi dom), at the books section: http://www.chessm.ru/index.php?page=catalog&cat_id=5960 But this site is quite slow.
And there is also ozon.ru (the russian equivalent to amazon). The chess books are at http://www.ozon.ru/context/catalog/id/1000372/.

Greetings,

RotGut
I've found 85 games in my database - I've tried to attach it as a PGN file but its just over the limit...

I can only email it to you - if you wish to do so, you can PM me with a throwaway Mailinator email address.

Kindest regards,

Dragan Glas

Anyone know of any annotated games collections (book or electronic) by this great player? Given Kholmov's strength I would think that at least there must be a book of his games published in Russian? The question is where do I find a Russian chess book that may or may not have been published?
