Dreev is one of my favourite players. I even used to have his repertoire at one point, which consists in the main of many 2nd-tier systems which are not at the cutting edge, but still contain plenty of bite. He's having a rough patch now, but at one point he crossed 2700 (think this was after Dos Hermanas in 2003). So he is definitely in the same league as say Van Wely and Kasimzhanov. He had a nice win v. Jakovenko with the 4. Qc2 nimzo recently at the Russian Championships  which is worth a look.

I did place an order for this book once but it was out of stock at the local dealer. I think i'll try again for this book online. Thanks guys for the reminder!

Ostap,

Thanks for the web links.  I'm going to try to look at a copy before I buy it, but the chess analysis definitely sounds fantastic.

Well, I've ordered it, so I should have it in about a week or two.  All sources I could find were very positive about this book!  I must admit that don't know Dreev's games very well (except some of his in the Saemisch).  However, after deciding to give the Caro-Kann a whirl recently, I noticed that we have almost the exact same repertoires as White and Black (if I were to actually adopt the Caro)!  So I figured this would be a good book to study from for both pure chess stuff and opening insight.

I'll let everyone know what I think about the book when it comes in.

I think it is a great book. It starts out with about 18 pages on Dreev's life and career. Some good stories mixed in too. But the games are the real stars. Dreev is of course a well known expert in the caro and semi slav, and those openings are featured. But he is also an expert on the white side of samisch king's indian, petrosian (4.a3) queen's indian, 5.Bf4 queen's gambit declined, and queen's gambit accepted, among others. I also enjoyed his 2 games vs the pirc, where he plays 4.Bg5. Great stuff. 100 games with lots of verbal notes and explanations. Book is 300 pages. If you like Dreev's games, you will definitely enjoy the book. I'd rate it similar to Gelfand's game collection, which I also think is a terrific book.

Thx boki!

Dreev is one of my favorite not-quite Super GMs.  I would love to see a copy of it before I buy it.

Does anyone have a copy of this book?  I was thinking of buying it, and would like some feedback from someone who owns the book.  Thanks!
