I think there was a nearly identical thread on a very similar topic, also in 'General Chess' - if I remember correctly, you (Albert92) even posted on this thread. 

Before the tournament, do Tactics. Not only will the puzzles improve your play in the tournament, it will also improve your play in future tournaments. Combine this with playing on ICC/Playchess before the tournament (but don't play blitz on the day of the tournament) and you will be poised to play well in the tournament.

Hi,
I would like to have some advice from you all.I will be having a tournament at a state level.I am hoping to get a good result.But i am not sure what are the last preparations that i need to do Undecided.For example looking through opening lines,how to keep alert during games etc.

Winning isn't  being first but by doing better than what you did in the past.
