	5...Qb6 might also be a good rejoinder: 6.e4 de4 7.fe4 and now 7...e5 (or 7...Nc6 8.Nf3 e5) looks thematic to me.

	Apart from anything else, 4...Nf6 is by no means compulsory (or even best) in that specific line.

	Back in 1969 (yes, dear chessfriends, I remember back then) Hans Berliner authored a regular chess column in the Washington Post. He used it as a platform to advocate an early version of his "system." This included a rather strange idea against the Slav: 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.cxd5 cxd5 4.Nc3 Nf6 5.f3!? Obviously this is slow, but since Black ironically lacks the ability to interfere with ...c5, White's plan to build up a strong center isn't completely harmless. As I recall for example, White obtains some chances after 5...Nc6 6.e4 dxe4 7.d5. In any case, for the benefit of Slav players, I think a very good reply to 5.f3 is 5...a6! Then 6.e4 (what else?) 6...dxe4 7.fxe4 e5! and Black is quite fine.
