Here are my thoughts:

1.e4 c5  2.Nf3 Nc6  3.d4 cxd4  4.Nxd4 Nf6  5.Nc3 e5  6.Ndb5 d6  7.Bg5 a6  8.Na3 b5  9.Nd5 Be7  10.Bxf6 Bxf6  11.c3 Bg5  12.Nc2 0-0  13.a4 bxa4  14.Rxa4 a5  15.Bc4 Rb8  16.b3 Kh8  17.h4 Bh6  18.g4 Bf4 19. Qf3 Be6! basically stops White from grabbing the pawn just yet through tactics:

20. Nxf4 exf4 21. Qxf4 is much worse for White after 21...Bxc4 22. Rxc4 Ne5 23. Rd4 Rxb3, when the c-pawn is hanging, and the threat of 24...Rb1+ still has to be reckoned with. Instead of 21. Qxf4 White can play 21. Bxe6 but of course this move makes no sense, since after 21...fxe6, Black is once again better.

Hope this helps   Shocked

Tony

A line in the 9.Nd5 variation...

Hi everyone! I was wondering if any of you has had experience with the following line:

1.e4 c5  2.Nf3 Nc6  3.d4 cxd4  4.Nxd4 Nf6  5.Nc3 e5  6.Ndb5 d6  7.Bg5 a6  8.Na3 b5  9.Nd5 Be7  10.Bxf6 Bxf6  11.c3 Bg5  12.Nc2 0-0  13.a4 bxa4  14.Rxa4 a5  15.Bc4 Rb8  16.b3 Kh8  17.h4 Bh6  18.g4 Bf4 and after 19.Qf3, what is the best answer? What are the correct plans in this position for black and white? (I play this line as black). I know practice has shown 19...Be6 as the most common answer, but I am not sure why is this so...

I appreciate any input in advance.

Best regards,
