Black organizes counterplay on the queen's wing (a6, b5). He is always on the lookout for a central bread (d5, e5)

Umm, I think this exchange was a bit unnecessary. Gerbarts was asking quite relevant questions in a Be2 nadjorf thread.
Think most of us here would like titled players to reveal their last ideas in their favorite openings, but meanwhile these players have their own games to win...

Thanks for you answer Mnb, I guess...

I never started this post to argue with people. All I wanted to do was start a discussion. In the future however I will find some other place  to do so,  this'll be my last post here.

I don't want to offend you, but your approach is very superficial: blitz games, too lazy to read books, depending on the experience of others .... This is probably the answer to Kylemeister's question too.
So here is my superficial answer:
Black organizes counterplay on the queen's wing (a6, b5). He is always on the lookout for a central bread (d5, e5) but must avoid to get mated.
White organizes either a pawn storm or tries to break through in the centre (e4-e5). That's why he castles queenside.
For blitz this is all you need. Don't blame me though if you get lost positions within 20 moves.
Imo superficial debates don't need more than 5 posts. Gerbarts may answer and then the thread may be closed.  Lips Sealed

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

I continue to wonder why these "what are the ideas in opening X"-type questions seem almost obligatorily tied to some mention of blitz chess.  Maybe it's just me.

Hehe, you keep coming back to this in a lot of my posts...

The reason I don't buy books is because they cost money and I don't think they are any fun to read. Instead I like to discuss things here (which I believe is the purpose of chesspub.com) and gain an understanding from peoples varied experience. It's simply more fun for me that way.

For the last time, I note your disagreement with my views on this.. thank you.

Plans in Sicilian Rauzer 6.Bg5?

Hi everyone,

In the Sicilian Rauzer after (1. e4 c5   2. Nf3 d6   3. d4 cxd4   4. Nxd4 Nf6   5. Nc3 Nc6   6. Bg5 e6   7. Qd2 ) what are the plans for both sides?

It seems like a pretty complicated opening and I'm curious how much memorization vs. understanding is involved.

In tournament games I don't think I would feel unconfortable with this opening but in the blitz games I've played I definitely feel a bit lost most of the times since I don't have time to really make plans.

Thanks a lot guys!
