Sorry about that, TalJechin.  Yes, of course I meant 3.Bc4.

Woohoo! Congratulations to John Shaw! He has published a refutation of TJ's 3.Bf4 line. I look forward to reading the reviews.

Hmm, chess slander or chess dyslexia...?  Wink

Btw, yesterday I found out that Dragonslayer also has a KG book in the works - ETA this autumn on a new Norwegian publishing company.
No 3.Bc4 there either I hear.

Quality Chess announced today 27/6  that the King's Gambit book they have slated for release for some time originally by Jan Pinski will in fact now be written by John Shaw with a Sept 2008 realease date.
It will be interesting to find out what sort of book this will be? Comprehensive theory/Starting Out/Repertoire? The blurb states John (an IM I think) has played the opening himself.Certainly the Quality Chess Opening books released so far judging mostly by reports on this forum have been well received.

                                           Oscar.

And on 23/7, a mere five years later, it actually arrived! http://www.qualitychess.co.uk/blog/?p=2067

Well I can confirm the rumor about Yelena Dembo's "Fighting the Anti-King's Indian", since I  bought it a week ago.
It doesn't cover all the same ground as Gallagher's book, but has a useful chapter for playing against 1.Nf3 and 1.c4, including some improvements on lines in Kosten's Dynamic English book.

Therer seem to bee new books planed by everyman.
A book on playing the Ruy Lopez with black bases on the Marschall bei Pavlovic and Davies is supposed to write a book on the catalan, will be interesting to compare with the Khalifman book on the Kramnik repertoire, wich should be out next year

Any other news ?

No rumors unfortunately, but I am hoping beyond hope for Alik Gershon and Igor Nor to write Mexico 2007 to match their amazing San Luis 2005.

Wow! With the expertise of both Bern and Agdestein on board this will surely become THE standard work on the Stonewall Dutch. Bern relied on the Stonewall against 1.d4 in the Corr. WCh final that he won, and I don't think he was ever in danger of losing with it there.

I never understood this opening much (especially not from the black side) so I expect to learn a lot from the book.

I thought Gambit were already doing a Stonewall book by Ivar Bern and Sverre Johnsen. I hope nothing's happened to that.

Appears 'tis one and the same squire.

Love the name Ivor Bern. Sounds like every Scottish parent.

They say July for the EU and August for the US, but we are already quite far in July. I would not be surprise if the book came out with one month delay. Business as usual...  Wink

Yusupov once said that “The problem with the Dutch Defence is that later in many positions the best move would be ...f5-f7” but he is surely wrong.

There is now a release date for Dembo:Fighting the anti-Kingsindians:August 08.
Is seems quite interesting, as Gallaghers superb book is rather outdated now.

No Information if there will be a Ebook of this book
