The decline in popularity of the KID is IMHO not due to fear of any particular line, although I guess that for many players the amount of theory that the Classical has accumulated is a bit off-putting. I wrote in an earlier post:

IMHO this trend can be safely ignored at sub-elite level, where playing for a win with Black is often necessary to make a high score, and where having counterplay in a strategically rich position is far more important than whether the position is objectively +=, = or =+.

I have been a KID player ever since i saw some of the beauties that this opening produces yet lately i hear that the KID is in trouble and has not been played much recently??!?!?!?!?
what a travesty this is for chess!!
if so, can anyone tell me which lines are supposedly causing problems so that i can work out an adequate system.

NB. i have been playing semi-slav recently so have not followed many of the theoretical developments
