Some advice from GM Spraggett here

http://www.kevinspraggett.com/developm.htm#Q6

Check out the rest of the site, lots of useful wisdom here!

As for what to do between rounds, make sure you spend enough time resting and relaxing as your physical state is important too.

How to prepare for a chesstournament

so far I never really prepared for a chesstourney,
I have just gone there and played, but lately I lost many ratingpoints when playing tourneys, also not playing really my best chess.
Please give me some tips how to prepare.

I guess I shouldn't occupy myself with chess too seriously the days before the tourney!?

I have also a problem if there are 2 rounds a day,
it is quite hard for me to find something to do in between the tournament ... sometimes you have to wait like 2,5 hours for the next round to start ... of course I could talk to other persons, but this is not always possible for me, of course if it is possible I use the opportunity.
