FC Groningen didn't perform very well after the 'winterstop' (winter break); but now they have fired their trainer and are active again on the transfermarket. Hope that might change things a bit next season... http://www.rtvnoord.nl/artikel/artikel.asp?p=110180

In my opinion the problem Groningen has it that is a completely foreign legion. This makes it very difficult to "communicate" your way out of bad results. It seems they have smarted up and bought 3 dutchies.

True...true...but on the other hand, Groningen always had a very nice scouting 'nose'...foreign players like Nevland, Tadic, Suarez of course and others they could sell with profit. But it seems to have cought a 'cold'... Wink. Plus the trainer (Pieter Huistra, now replaced by Robert Maaskant http://www.rtvnoord.nl/artikel/artikel.asp?p=110209 ) didn't communicate very well with his players, including the dutchies. Well, let's hope the new trainer has more 'playerwhisper' abilities  Cool.

It looks like Drogba is available for the right price. I doubt he really wants to go to China to finish his career.

That's basically my facial expression when I think of football and/or FC Twente last few months.

On the upside, Ajax also played lousy football beginning of the season, so chances are that next season Twente will be back in business again. Just get rid of that coach (or make him stop his antics), get some decent defender on the right, dont spend millions on Tadic and get a forward from the Jupiler league in stead.

No MML football directly, but Dirk Jan Klaas Huntelaar was the best goalgetter in the Bundesliga this season and the first Nederlandse forward in succeeding this way.

Congrats to him and his Dutch fans!  Smiley

Yeah and we also have the top scorer of the EPL. If we dont win the EC it wont be because of lack of quality up front.

PS here he is known as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar or KJH.

And now it is official Cool

Twente-Heerenveen was a very enjoyable game to watch, though I suspect Mnb wont like the result.

Last round on sunday. Some weird going ons:
Heerenveen must either lose or win to secure european football. A draw might see them going for the playoffs Shocked
