That is what I fear as well. Still it seems that he has done quite well against Sporting Lissabon.
At the other hand FC Twente has quite a tradition of making young talents better. Does the name Ronald de Boer ring a bell?

Never heard of him; you should take an interest in cricket instead, with Holland defeating England.  That's what makes a cricketing nation, beating the english.

Let the Americans, Asians and Scandiniavians watch Liverpool & co, Cricket is the game.

Isnt cricket a sport as intensive as chess, but with the thinking element removed?

As to the Stoch guy. I wouldnt hold my breath Mnb, I think he was bought as a sub-sub-substitute by Chelsea and he certainly isnt up to par with some of the recent Twente midfielders (like Engelaar, Tiote or Janssen), though he is very young. Problem is I think is that if he plays well he is back at Chel$ki next season and if he doesnt you have a cat in the bag.

Well, in the MML 16 teams got lower than McClaren's, including Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord.
Of one thing I am sure. Neither McClaren nor Stoch nor me is interested in cricket.

Seriously, Steve McClaren?  If the game can go any lower, I don't know just how.

Sorry to revive a thread hardly any English football fan seems to be interesed in anymore, but I have an important question.

Who is Miroslav Stoch? FC Twente has hired him from Chelsea, which is obviously an step higher for the guy. Steve McClaren already has proven that.

With Manchester United having two games in hand, Liverpool has the EPL lead!

Here's hoping that Brad Friedel will do his old club a solid and blank the home boys of Old Trafford on Sunday!

Well, it's been a while since anyone has read this thread.  However, with Liverpool moving within 1 point of Manchester United (even if Manc U has a game in hand), and Chelsea with more than 60 points from 30 games, it's time to revive it!

Yes, I know Liverpool has a tough uphill struggle, but as the perpetual fan, I have to keep rooting us on!
Let's go Reds!

There must be some weird weather going on.  MNb and I are in agreement again!

Oh, and the local temperature is about 25 degrees F warmer than usual for this time of year! (Forecast for tomorrow:  80 F and sunny.)   Cool

Good weekend for Chelsea and Man Utd fans, Arsenal and Liverpool both losing  Grin

It appears Liverpool deserved to win and lost this time, so I suppose it partially makes up for their earlier results  Smiley

Willempie clearly does not want to miss me and therefor deliberately "forgets" to mention the team that is one point ahead of Arrogant Amsterdam. The weird start has happened before in the MML, but usually after a few weeks the really strong teams emerge anyway. The question is if Feyenoord still belongs to that category, we have seen a steady decline since the team won the UEFA-cup.

Speaking about UEFA-cup, Twente is doing fine. Not Ajax.

Yep Uefa wasnt a good day for most teams. Still here's hoping Ajax will do better despite the management....

Liverpool has now beaten both Man United and Chelsea without having to play Torres!

Always nice to see Chelsea lose. Though again they were protected as the tackle on Babel should have been a 2nd yellow.

Here we have got the weirdest start since decades. Groningen and NAC in the lead, with Ajax only at 5 and PSV at 6. Feyenoord is doing well with a 15th place. Unfortunately I doubt they will remain there.
