RE:  "Excelling at Chess" by Aagard has 15 pages on Andersson's endgame play..."

Thanks, I'll definitely check that out.

Since non-English books tend to slip through the cracks, I was hoping to find out he had written a "My Best Games" in Swedish (or German, etc.)
Or that someone had put together such a collection and that I just never heard of it.  Hmm...I think its going to be very hard to find that Thipsay book. Undecided

Thanks, Stigma.

If I recall correctly, that was a pretty decent book. Some nice Andersson stuff.

Is that Kopec and Pritchett book the same book as 'Best Games of the Young Grandmasters'?

Apparently yes:
Quote:
World Chess Title Contenders and Their Styles has been published by Dover Publications. Written with Scottish IM Craig Pritchett, this book was originally published in 1980 as Best Games of the Young Grandmasters.

(from www.kopecchess.com)

Maybe Dover changed the title because the subjects are not so young anymore? Though they're not really title contenders anymore either...
On the same site we see that Quality Chess will publish a book on today's top players, by Ftacnik, Kopec and Browne.

I wasn't aware of that complete book, sounds interesting. There are at least two chapter-length (more or less) treatments:

"Chess World Title Contenders and their Styles" by Kopec and Pritchett has a chapter on Andersson, focusing on his strategic and technical play. The book is from 1980 but recently reprinted by Dover. I haven't seen it but it has good reviews on Amazon.

"Excelling at Chess" by Aagard has 15 pages on Andersson's endgame play in the chapter "Why Study the Endgame?". 5 games, all leading to rook endings, from 1990 onwards.

Andersson is usually well represented in books on endgame strategy, f.ex. those by Shereshevsky and LB Hansen.

There was one by an Indian IM a small paperback but good selection of games and OK notes. I have it at my parent's house - I can not recall the authors name ( Maybe Thipsay?).

Hello,

Quick question:
Did Ulf Andersson ever published a games collection, opening tome, etc.?
Or has someone else has written one about him.  I cannot find any.

Just curious,
