Haha! That's actually a really funny clue!

Simply amazing study...

A clue is that my previous post actually contained a clue.

I've got it now, though. How wrong could I be - completely different idea, works perfectly in every line. Not sure I would have made it without the new diagram, though.  Smiley

Aaarghhh, in Girkassa's line, I thought the rather prosaic 14 Qxe8 Kxe8, 15 Kb6 wins, but after 15...Kd7, 16 Kxa5 Kc6!, it's just drawn

White wins

The solution is very subtile Wink

Aha! Got it...I initially got stuck in the same place as Girkassa, as I was trying to manufacture exactly the same finish...but invoking the spirit of Reti gets you over the finish line Smiley

Best I can do so far is 1.Kc8 g1=Q 2.d7 Qc1+ 3.Kb7 Qe3 4.d8=Q+ Qe8 5.Qd6+ Kg8 6.Qe7 Qf8 7.e4 b4 8.exd5 b3 9.d6 b2 10.Qxf8+ Kxf8 11.d7 b1=Q+ 12.Ka7 Qe4 13.d8=Q+ Qe8 and I see no win for White - with the king on a7 instead of b7, Black has 14.Qd6+ Kg8 15.Qe7 Qc8. I have a feeling that the solution includes getting this position with White's king on b7, as that would be the most "study-like" - I just can't see how to do it.

Hmm, it seems like the only problem is perpetual check, so White just has to find a way to stop perpetual check.

1. Kc7 g1(Q) 2.d7 Qc1 3.Kb6 Kg8 4.d8(Q)+ Kh7 5.Qf8 Qh6 6.Qxf7 Kh8 7.Qg7+ Qxg7 8.fxg7 Kxg7

Now White can whack the pawns. I don't really seem a difference between whacking a5 or b5, but it seems that whacking a5 allows White to get back faster, so...

9.Kxa5 Kf6 10.Kxb5 Ke6 11.Kc5 g5 12.e3

White wins!

This solution seems too easy to be one for a endgame study, so I bet there are some hidden resources somewhere, but yah well...
