Hi Ender,

Take a further look at the position after my next 2 suggested moves and show me up to 5 further moves indicating no compensation for white.
I think you will find the position quite difficult for black but if youre not interested in backing up your evaluations with some indicative moves then that's O.K as well !!!? Cool

Regards,
Nelson

Well, I don't see why white gived exchange and pawn. I don't see any compensation here. I think this line is too radical

Hi

I'm not at my set right now but if I remember rightly white should get an advantage with Rxg2 and 0-0-0.

Have a closer look and let me know if you disagree with this.

Hi Enders,

Why don't you investigate 8 g3 a5 9 Be2 Na6 10 Be3 f5 11 ef gf 12 Qd2 f4 13 gf Nf4 14 Rg1 Bh3 15 Ng5 !?

What's you view on this continuation?

Hi.

I searched for position after 10...Nc5 in the ChessBase internet data base and there where nine hits.  Two white wins, one black and the rest draws.

One of the draws featured Bagirov who is a grandmaster who have played the Makagonov a lot as white.

Bagirov - Tal Shaked, Linares 1992.

11. Bxh5 gxh5 12. g4 (playing for control of f5) hxg4 13.hxg4 Qh4 14. Be3 h5 15. Kd2 hxg4 16.Nf3 Qd8 17.Qg1 Qf6 18.Nh4 Lh6 19.f3

A draw in the end.

Another "Makogonov grandmaster" who have played this is Pia Cramling in a game against Uhlmann which also ended in a draw.  Uhlmann played 12...c6 instead.

Can this be something?

Cheers / Anders

Ps.
The Morozevich  - Jones game is interesting.  Features  10.Nd2 and not 10.Nh2 as given by Markos though.

Have a look at Gawain Jones making Morozovich look not so good at the olympiad.

Thank You I'll check that game and post my comments here.

How to get advantage in 7..Nh5! Krasenkow var.

Hi folks!
I have new GM. Markos book, where he states that after 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 d6 4. e4 Bg7 5. Nf3 O-O 6. h3 e5 7. d5 Nh5 !? 8. Nh2
Qe8 9. Be2 Nf4 10. Bf3 f5 11. g3 Nxh3 12. Bg2 Qf7
black have equal game. And i tend to agree.
As an alternative he gives 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 d6 4. e4 Bg7 5. Nf3 O-O 6. h3 e5 7. d5 Nh5 !? 8. g3
!? stating that position is equal but interesting. Well, after a5 9. Be2 Na6
10. Nh2 Nc5 ! (He gives only 10... Nf6 ?!) 11. Ng4 f5 !?
looks at least equal. White is undeveloped and his king stuck in the middle of the board.

So my question is: how white can improve, to get some advantage in this line?

1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 d6 4. e4 Bg7 5. Nf3 O-O 6. h3 e5 7. d5 Nh5 !? 8.Nd2 is bad because of 8..c6! opening position when white is undeveloped.

1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 d6 4. e4 Bg7 5. Nf3 O-O 6. h3 e5 7. d5 Nh5 !? 8.Be3 is also not convincing in view 8..f5!?

So is Krasenkow dead equal after 7..Nh5! or maybe i don't see something obvious?

Regards. M
