I shall have to dig out a recent Australian correspondence game (not one of mine) with a big improvement in the Line with Ne4.
hopefully I will post it tomorrow.

The Gunderam is very interesting and leads in interesting tactics games. But that's one of the favourite line I like to play against when I play the BDG. I agree with Gambit's post, that line with 9..Nd5 is well-known for the BDG-player and is strong. But Black has a lot of other possibilties with hopes for equality on move 9. I believe 7..Ne4 is refuted by the "simple" acceptation with 8.gxf5, maybe 8.Bb5+ is good enough too, I don't know that move well. But 7..Be4 instead is sharp but equal.

After 1 d4 d5 2 e4 de4 3 Nc3 Nf6 4 f3 ef3 5 Nxf3 Bf5 6 Ne5 e6 7 g4 Bg6 8 Qf3 c6 9 g5 Nd5 10 Bd3 Nbd7 11 Nxg6 hxg6 12 Nxd5 cxd5 13 00
White has a strong attack. I have played this line many times in over-the-board games and blitz. Practice shows that White has the advantage here.

This position can be reached from the Teichmann Defense, 5...Bg4 after 6 h3 Bh5 7 g4 Bg6 8 Ne5 e6 9 g5 Nd5 10 Qf3 c6 11 Bd3 Nbd7 12 Nxg6 hxg6 13 00. The main difference is that the pawn is on h3 rather than h2. This means that in some lines, the variation ...Bxh2+ is no longer possible.

That said, what's your perception of what I just wrote about the Tartakower-Gunderam?

1.d4 d5 2.e4 dxe 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.f3 exf 5.Nf3 Bf5 now usual is 6.Ne5 e6 7.g4

a) 7...Ne4 has probably been refuted by the line starting with 8.Bb5 c6 7.0-0 This is dealt with in the books so I will not quote all the moves. Sufficient that I have had a correspondence opponent resign before we even reached the end of the book moves.

b) 7...Bg6 has a mass of theory which is worth exploring.
