Its about the the time we changed the heading of this category from "Complete French with GM Neil McDonald" to Kevin's name.

I could do, but Kevin is only a temporary replacement as Neil will be back in a few months.

I wish to thanks Neil McDonald for his great job on the French Site of Chesspub.com over the years and also thanks to Kevin Goh Wei Ming for his excellent first update.

Nice to read about the personal taste of an expert in the line.

Thanks Neil McDonald for all work on updates... Smiley

I always found Neil's updates valuable for improving French chess defence skills.

If Kevin continue the work in same manner, I will be happy to send email analysis/games/ideas for the updates....or continue to start forump topic.

Maybe part of some next updates can deal with content of recents books about French.. to check advised lines in recent games.

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd take the chance to say good luck to Kevin in taking over the French website. I'm sure he'll do a great job. Subscribers will already have seen his excellent notes to games in previous updates [so- no pressure Kevin!]

I'm not dead yet and hope to contribute to chesspub again in the future. Meanwhile the French is in safe hands.

All the best,
Neil.

Thanks for the encouragement!  Wink

Wei,

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE cover the 3...Nc6 lines - both Guimard and Reefschlager Hect variations. These are such a welcome break and after Watson't dangerous weapons book, along with many, I also play these lines with success.

Neil used to cover these and I am sure would continue to do. Now that you are here, a real practitionar of these lines, this must go on.

Few years from today, I bet, world will tell that one of the most popular lines of French was popularized right here at chesspublishing.com

[I couldn't have done any more encouragement. Hope you listen]

Great job Neil - you will be missed.

Kevin you have a hard act to follow ...........no doubt 3...nc6 will be a key move that you will analyse

Right, I've made it a point not to touch 3..Nc6 too much. If I can help it anyway.  Wink

It's not going to be easy to meet Neil's standards but I'll be giving my best shot. I'm putting myself on the firing line so blast away if the standard is not acceptable. But valid criticisms only pls.  Grin

P.S Kevin is my English name.
