	I remember a discussion (on ICC, I think) about people who have played on a national team both at chess and at football. It turned out Agdestein was not the only one, but I don't remember the other guys. So there are several candidates for that title.

	Sadly the World's tallest Grandmaster just recently past away: http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=5400 *Czech GM Miroslav Filip dies at 80* 03.05.2009 – At six foot nine inches Miroslav Filip was an imposing presence at the chess board. But he became a world force in the 50s and 60s, represented his country in 12 consecutive Chess Olympiads and inflicted defeat on no fewer than three world champions (Euwe, Smyslov and Tal). Filip was born in Prague on October 27, 1928, and died there on April 27, 2009. Obituary by Raymond Keene. ... 6 foot 9 inches = 2.05 meters

	Iirc Agdestein made it to the profs in football (or could have). I remember him doing an interview with Bohm while heading the ball over to each other. Euwe also did boxing and was a prof in math. Keres made it to money bills Philidor was a great composer

	Peter Heine Nielsen is the World's tallest Grandmaster, at over 6 feet in height. The Newest GM-Elect is Robert Hess. The Most Famous Grandmaster on ICC is Nakamura. The Grandmaster with the most games played: Korchnoi. The Shortest Grandmaster?

	On the strongest players who weren't grandmasters, I suspect some of the 'greats' of the 19th century and earlier were not as the concept 'grandmaster' was bestowed in some Russian tournament by the Tsar(any historians out there to be more accurate). Isn't Jonathan Mestel worth a mention with his distinction of being a grandmaster at chess and bridge ?
