If I recall correctly, it was eventually discovered that Nakamura was ill at the time of the tournament, yet still managed to draw. I believe he even had a win at one point in the endgame but misplayed a move and a draw was the result.

Well drawing agsinst a 150 points lower oppoent may not be a big campaign for the defense but it does show that Nakamura wanted to win and chose dutch for that reason.

In the 1st round of the NH tournament today, Naka employed the Leningrad Dutch versus Ljubojevic. Those of us with access to ICC can follow, review, the game on the web.
