What I really don't understand about the global warming conspiracy believers is the issue of motive. What exactly is the motive behind the worldwide conspiracy to skew research and to trick everyone into believing in this "fallacy"?
I dont believe in a conspiracy:
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity

You would think that the interests of Big Oil and other political and corporate power brokers would lean them to fund and skew research that proves global warming is not real and to entrench policy that is in their interests.
Why? Much more money is to be earned by actual research on say engines, pipes or solar energy.

Think of any other industry. Tobacco, alcohol, drug and food corporate players have fought for decades against scientific revelations that threatened their companies and their industry. Bad policy has often prevailed because of the power of such interests.
So scienctists sexing up the dossiers is somehow good, when it serves a good cause, but not when it is a bad cause?
Point is that the whole setup of the IPCC was faulty from the beginning. That now holes start to appear was to be expected. You cant be an impartial scientist and try to influence policy at the same time.
Lsdtly you dont need science to influence policy. As a matter of fact very little actual science is usually ever involved.

So who is behind the global warming conspiracy? Big Wind?
