The position after 17.Be3 is certainly worth investigating - I am sure Naiditsch was well prepared as he sat on the other side of the board some years before facing 15.Qf3 and losing (with Black).

But seriously, the problem for an amateur player wanting to play the Marshall with Black is that it almost never materializes.

Opening books are a bit like busses. You wait on them forever, and when they finally arrive, there are several of them!

Some years ago there were no books on the e6, d6 dutch. Then there were two books at the same time. There has recently been quite many books on the CK after some drought.

The Marshall attack has of course a very good reputation. Now, I'd rather see something done on Bc5 Bb7 variations or the Steinitz deferred.
  
Don't check me with no lightweight stuff.

Indeed, although that isn't really surprising given the regularity of its appearance at super-GM level.

I also have high expectations of this book, although at this stage I don't intend to buy it since my residence is already over cluttered with chess books.

I was wondering, how will this book compare to other sources on the Marshall (e.g. Pavlovic, Brunello, ECO, etc)?
