I had the same question in a computer chess forum which member I am and they gave me the following link:
http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb432434/bigcbh.zip
In this BIG TEST cbh zip they give the following file: BIGECO.COD (file size 1 406 498)
But I doubt this is the one that ChessBase meant. Maybe they wanted to expand the original eco.cod but somehow forgot about that...while the guiding text stayed in their reference.  Undecided

Looking at the text file that comes with MegaBase 2012 it says:

Quote:
ECO code

The new file for classification of the ECO code can be found in directory ECO-Code. Please copy this file into your ChessBase 10 or 11 directory. This guarantees a much better reference search.

However, there is no ECO-Code directory (although maybe this is because I downloaded it from the ChessBase shop). Does anyone have this new classification file? Undecided

I recently bought CB 10 and the Mega 2010 Dababase.
The selling point was that one could regularly update the Mega 2010 DB (many annotated games) from CB online source.
However, the CB S/N or activation code never worked so that I could not activate the update function.
Chess base would not help me. They sold a defective product. Has anyone else had that problem with Chessbase?

To get the update to work, you have to use the number from your MegaBase DVD, not from your ChessBase 10 program.    Smiley

I also had some initial problems getting through to the server, but tried it again last weekend and it worked fine.   Cool

I can give the perspective that I've often had problems registering products due to issues with their activation server.  This was the case for Chessbase, Deep Rybka and especially Pocket Fritz registrations.  By sheer "brute force" in repeatedly trying to register the products I was eventually able to register them all.

However, I have also heard of instances where they have misprinted serial numbers on the booklet.  In this case emailing the support team at Chessbase often fixes the issue as they can provide you with another number.
