Chessbase help!

Hi, I recently updated my chessbase reference database from 3.8 million games to 8.8 million games. It now jams whenever I try to use the database.

Can you make the reference database too big? Anyone experienced this problem or have advice to fix it?

Also what does chessbase mean when killing duplicate games by "keep the 'better'"
