(1.d4 d6 2.Nf3 g6 3.c4 Bg7 4.g3 f5)
Is there a problem with 5.Bg2 Nf6 6.b3 ? I thought that in the 6.b3 system (1.d4 f5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.g3 g6 4.Bg2 Bg7 5.0-0 0-0 6.b3) White plays c4 fairly quickly anyway. Or does Avrukh attach special significance to delaying c4?

Move order problem in Avrukh's GM2

Against the dutch Leningrad system Avrukh recommends the early 6.b3 system instead of c4 which I like and already was playing.

Agaist the modern however he gives the move order 1.d4 d6 2.Nf3 g6 3.c4 (he says after 3.g3 Bg7 4.Bg2 c5 black is fine) Bg7 4.g3 but now black can play 4... f5 transposing into a Leningrad where white already played c4.

Any suggestions on avoiding having to play the main line Leningrad in that move order ?

Tx, S
