The Slav with ...a6 aka Chebanenko, aka Chameleon, continues to be played with reasonable success by some strong GMs, e.g. Malakhov, so I was quite surprised to note that one of its strongest supporters formerly, Chess Publishing's own GM Eric Prié, seems to have abandoned it for the Queen's Gambit Accepted!

Does anybody (especially our French colleagues, who might have gleaned some info. from the French magazines and forums) have any idea why?

The other day I played through dozens of his games, in most of them with the Chebanenko and then at a point the QGA started to appear indeed. This is a mystery--probably a secret.

I got appetite for the Chebaneko, though. (DVDs by Martin, books by Flear, Bologan)
Ultrasolid, just the style of play I used to employ to tire off FMs.
