7.Bb5+ is a logical idea; it is another argument that 6...Bd7 is better than 6...b6.
Still Bengal Tiger should not have taken on f3. That only helps to develop White's kingside.
You could have done better with 14.Ne5 idea c5 15.Nxd7 Nxd7 16.Be7 Re8? 17.Bxh7+.
After 15...c4 iso 15...Qc6 White will find it hard to pursue his attack. Same for 16...c4 iso 16...cxd4?? after which the standard attack wins.

Still searching, Lev?
Or don't you want to post games you've lost against 6...c5; 6...b6; and 6...Bd7; ?

The response 6...e5 is not to be feared. I have played 7 Be3! here, with good results.

Brilliant answer, Lev. Never let logic get in the way of your opinions.
Anyhow, already met 6...c5, 6...Bd7 and/or 6...b6 ?

Those all look like good defences to me, but isn't 6...e5 really good too?  I know this move has been brought up before but did anyone propose some good White tries?  I've played this gambit quite a few times in blitz myself but never really thought it was completely sound.

To you it is inferior. Not to me.

I never said the WRG was inferior. You said it, MNb, not me.

No, logic never has been your forte. Let me try to explain it once again. You say 4.a3 Bxc3+ 5.bxc3 Ne7 6.e5 is good for White. Right? That means 4.e5 Ne7 5.a3 Bxc3+ 6.bxc3 is also good for White. Right? Now the latter does not offer a pawn. Right? So the latter is better than the first. In other words, 4.a3 Bxc3+ 5.bxc3 is inferior.
And I assure you, that OTB and in corr chess, computer or no computer, play after 4.e5 is even more lively than after 4.a3. I know from experience, from both sides of the board. You see, I have tried the WRG myself a few times, long before you did.

As for a boring game, let me point out that in Winckelmann-Knudsen, both opponents knew the best moves. But then, this is correspondence, not over-the-board chess. I assure you, in OTB chess, with no computer to help you, things are much more lively!

Yeah, I don't get it. Isn't e5 just a regular Winawer?
Huh

Then, unless you want to contradict yourself, the WRG is inferior to the main line 4.e5 Ne7 5.a3 Bxc3+ 6.bxc3 c5.
So there is no need to risk a pawn in your opinion, especially as it may lead to a boring game (see Winckelman-Knudsen above). The main line 4.e5 is never dull.

I have to agree with this assessment. The move 5...Ne7 just avoids the WRG, but 6 e5 is good for White.

I don't like the idea to prevent the Winckelmann-Reimer Gambit by making the second best move 5...Ne7. Apart from 6.e5 +=/= leading to the normal Winawer positions White can also try to get a more open position for his bishops with 6.Bd3 c5 7.exd5.

Jokes aside, if Black can equalize by declining the gambit then that greatly reduces the practical advantages of playing the variation.
