Yes, the playable ebooks are great. It is just that some of them are not updated that recently. But maybe neither are the PGN-files?

All the new-style eBooks are updated almost every month, the ChessPub Guide PGN files are updated every time there is a new game.

I might have misunderstood this, but I thought that when I click the red link playable eBooks, I can download the new-style eBooks. Some of these are pretty old, e.g. under 1.e4 e5 or French. The Sicilian has three, but one (Yugoslav attack) is from 2006. Or are some of these "old-style" eBooks?

When you search your database look for tournament 'ChessPub' to just see the guides. Remember you can  also use the Playable eBooks. Smiley

Aha, that's the key. I didn't check the tournament field, thanks!

I have started to finally take a look at what I've paid for. I.e. not just the new updates, but also the old ones and of course the guides.

However, I find it really hard to browse the guides in a good order, e.g. to read everything like in the PDF-files or in the update-files. Maybe I am not doing it correctly. I have downloaded the CBV-files a-e (until 2010, from the Gold plus section) and then all the rest as per this thread. This gives me all the games, but just in alphabetical order as default, and when I try to sort, I can't find a good way to get everything in an order that just shows the guides.

Thus, my question is, what is the best way for me to get all the updates and games and to be able to read everything without having to sift through all games. I guess I could say I basically would like to use the guides as an opening book to first get an overview of a specific opening (just like the , and after that use the commented games to delve deeper into the specific lines without being hindered by the games in the initial phase.

Do I have to download just the guides and games separately, respectively, in PGN format instead and then flip between these?

OK, I've changed it, and it is true it looks much clearer - thanks Jesse! Wink
Thinking about it, the 'Updated Since' might have been a throwback to the old ChessPub.exe database program - anyone remember this?

My contention is with the word 'updated'. What was 'updated'?

The user downloads recently added pgn games. The games were not updated (i.e. revised) - they were added.

'Added since', then?

Replace (dd-mm-yyyy) with something more instructive.

OK, I've changed "(dd-mm-yyyy)" to Quote:
(enter 01-01-2011 for all 2011 updates)
Wink

However, I'm not sure that Quote:
'date added' is a little clearer.
as it implies one specific date, one update. But I'm open to better ideas?! Undecided

Hi Tony,

'updated since' feels like a riddle.

'date added' is a little clearer.

Replace (dd-mm-yyyy) with something more instructive. How about

There is a download of all the games up till the end of 2010 in the Gold Plus section, but to get the 2011 games you have to go to the PGN Archive. To download all the games since a certain date just use the 'UPDATED SINCE' box and enter the date you last downloaded. Wink

Hello everyone (especially Tony),

Is there a way to download all of the 2011 ChessPublishing updates at once, or at least download all of the updates from each section in a particular month all at once?

The reason I ask is because it's been a month or two since I downloaded the updates and don't want to have to delete game doubles in my database.
