I have only one comment: Schiller.

Even shorter than Tony Miles's review.  Grin

This book is the 2nd edition of the old Gufeld and Schiller book "Secrets of the Sicilian Dragon".
Since Gufeld died 2002 Schiller wrote this 2nd edition himself.

I liked the first edition and I thought that with some updating chapters, for example show new lines like chinese Dragon with b file attacks, Topalov line in Bc4 Yugoslav nad Burnett variation and new ideas in 9 0-0-0 d5 12 Bd4 and 9 0-0-0 d5 Kb1 etc an updated book would be even better.

However, all orignal chapters and themes from first edition are unchanged! He has not even updated  the Dragon hall of fame where Carlsen, Radjabov,       Gashimov,Timofeev (and perhaps even Ivanchuk) etc should be added! Not even the litteratur list has been updated so Dearings classic "Play the sicilian Dragon" is not even listed! And no Dragadorf or other king in the middle systems ideas are mentioned either.

The book however looks easier to read than 1st edtition and has a extra chapter. That chapter consist of 30 "Situations" based on recent games when a puzzle should be solved.

However, if you have 1st edition, dont buy the 2nd. If you dont have 1st edition then this book can be considered as an introduction to Dragon in general but still misses some critical new ideas.

Like I said one time he does only copy and paste. A real disappointment from who just tries to get your money.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.
