I agree the logos should be the same size and chesspublishing.com should come first. I also worry that the US flag may put some international internet users off.  Why buy "American" on the internet?

It's got a great assortment of products but needs improving.

the current version, it has critical navigation/hierarchy problems as well as technical issues, for example, just went there, wouldn't let me click on anything??  Shocked

had to do some fancy clicking before i could get it to let me click. Probably browser specific and caused by the rotating banner.

two minor improvements -
1. this image should use the chesspub.com logo, not chesspublishing's, and domain name...and chesspub's logo should be first (on the left) and the two logos should be exactly the same size.

2. in place of the top nav 'Chess Shop' link, is in a place with unrelated links, find a space reserved for this idea only and, there, just 'ask for the sale' - with something direct:
"Support chesspub.com by buying your chess supplies at chess4less.com"

seems like petty stuff, but important for what you're trying to do.

If YaBB 2.1 (whatever that is) is messing up what content people see, then maybe you should just remove that option to force people into the newer format.

It is not that the old template is actually messing anything up, I think it is because the customisable tabs only appeared in 2.2, so only newer templates can see them.
I don't think that there can actually be many members still using the old templates, anyway.

I think Lee Roth is correct. If you've set your User CP options to use the old 2.1 template, you don't get the chess shop. That's why it does appear when you log out.

Ahh... I see. I went into User CP, Profile, Options, and changed the "Which template would you like to use?" from YaBB 2.1 to the forum default, and now I see the shop at the top.

If YaBB 2.1 (whatever that is) is messing up what content people see, then maybe you should just remove that option to force people into the newer format.

Maybe your browser still uses the old data.

Yes, this is the probable explanation, the site asks your browser to cache a lot of stuff for quite a long time to speed up browsing - I might turn this off for a few days so that everyone gets a fresh copy of the page. Wink

I see it, and I'm not an admin, mod, subscriber (anymore), or otherwise important in any way.  But at least I feel a little special now.

Same here.  Perhaps because I still use the YaBB 2.1 template?

I'm not sure what the template thing means. At the bottom of the page, I see "Powered by YaBB 2.4!"

When I tested with Internet Explorer, it was my first time ever viewing this site with IE, so I'm sure it wasn't something old saved in my cache or something like that. I always use Mozilla, and just logged in with IE to test this.

Log out, clear the browser cache and try again. Maybe your browser still uses the old data.

As soon as I logged out of the site, I saw the link, but then I logged back in again, and it disappeared. I'm using Mozilla Firefox, if that matters. Actually, just booted up the old Internet Explorer to try it there, and I have the same issue.

Err... I'm not seeing the link on www.chesspub.com. Looks like it's there for chesspublishing.com, though.

It should be after 'Home' and before 'Help'.

Nope. I've got "Home", "Help", "Search", "Members", "User CP", and "Logout", but nothing about shopping. Maybe only admins and moderators can see it?
