It seems to me that 1 e4 players are (slightly) more likely to respond 1 d4-d5 (as opposed to 1 d4 players) and similarly 1 d4 players are more (slightly) more likely to play 1 e4-e5 than e4 players. Is it only me? If not, what would the explanation be?

I have played 1.e4 for more than 20 years and hardly played 1.d4 d5 as Black; I only do now now I play 1.d4 myself. At the other hand, when I still played 1.e4, I quite often replied with 1...e5.
So far this statistical analysis with population 1.

Complex queries can be broken down into series of simpler quests. I'm sure you can figure out how to do that. The only question remaining is whether it's worth your time to actually carry those queries out.

Not at all. Just wondering if anyone else observed this. I definitely don't expect anyone to spend any time on doing the actual statistics. If wanted to actually do the stats but I wouldn't really know where to begin - does chessbase provide for such complex queries?

You make a claim that is based on statistics without any reference to any statistical study that you, or others have performed.

Are you really just waiting for someone else to look into the statistics to see if your "observation" is accurate?
