But I remember you posting you bought one for your wife and you would considering to buy yourself one, and you asked around what chess software there exists for apple computers.
Anyway ... marketing has a lot of influence on what you buy ... americans know about this the best

Does anybody here play on remoteschach?  How is it, especially for cc?  How is it for non-German speakers?  1.5 Euro per month seems a little steep to me.

nice to see this quote coming from some guy who happily pays the doubled price for his computer, because there is some apple logo sticked on it ...

No actually, I don't have an Apple computer.  I have a workstation built by Los Alamos Computers in New Mexico.  ( http://www.laclinux.com ).  I do admit that it's a very powerful machine, and that I paid significant bucks for it.  That doesn't imply my willingness to pay 18 Euros a year just to play chess on a random German chess server.

As I indicated, I am happy to hear good things about remoteschach that might persuade me to pay their fee.  If anyone here actually knows anything about it, that is.

Fwiw, I think Apple is evil and I definitely would never buy into their we-control-everything world.

I do play on other sites, especially for cc. I know, ICC has recently added that feature.

ICC's CC feature is not recent. It is also not good. ICC is probable the worse place save chess.com or net-chess.com for CC. Save yourself the trouble.

... ICC is $24.95 for three months (a rip-off if you ask me).

Considering how far above all the free sites ICC is, the price could be considered a bargain. There's no free site where top players can play other strong players in the relative safe knowledge they are facing humans.

There's one chess site that is proud of the fact it has banned respectable titled players for cheating. The amusing thing about that: there are almost no GMs who play on that site!

I'll stick with ICC and its seemingly high price. (I can get free month extensions regularly by playing in some of their many tournaments. I haven't paid for a renewal in about 4 years.)

I do play on other sites, especially for cc. I know, ICC has recently added that feature.

I did chuckle a bit when I saw Markovich calling 1.5 euro "a little steep for me". I guess when I think of the word steep I think of a money hurdle. ICC is $24.95 for three months (a rip-off if you ask me).
