Play ...e6 against Nh4 and follow Kramnik's game against Anand against in Bonn 2008 (Wch match) but with the improvement offered by Rogozenko in his chessbase annotations to that game. Against the Ne5 main line i always liked the piece sac variation which is at best slightly better for White (there are different opinions on that) but at club level it would be impossible to win with White but very possible to win with Black!

I can't find this game, only one with Qe2, but also after 8. ...Nbd7. Could you give some lines?

I often play the not so often played 9 ...Ne4 after 9. Qe2 (instead of e.g. 9...Bg6).

After 9. Nh4, IIRC there are two different variations, to provoke or not to provoke f3 (by ...Be4 or Bg4) before moving the bishop to (h5-)g6, or you can always allow White to take the bishop and play for control over e4.

I don't remember if there is a refutation/good version for White of 9 ...Bg4 10. f3 Nf-anywhere either, actually.

I have been looking more at playing other things than the Slav lately. I should know what I like to play, but sorry, my memory has gotten to a really sad state. Therefore, I can't say what Black's best plan is after 9. Nh4.
