Here is the group analysis thus far on D44.

I don't know of any refutation of 9.exf6, so this can also be considered.

I can't remember any refutation, but I haven't seen any real advantage for White in this line as far as I can remember. I'm at work, can't check the analysis right now. I might be a good practical line anyway.

Those are my thoughts as well, which is why I'm more interested in 9.Bg3 at the moment.

9 Nxg5 Nd5 is at least one other system.  Not to mention the systems where black goes ...Qa5 early enough, and Botvinnik's old favourite with ...Nd7-e5 where white sacrifices his queen, and....

I'm rather interested in 9 exf6 gxh4 10 Ne5 Qxf6 11 g3!? as featured in Dangerous Weapons: The Queen's Gambit and also a New in Chess survey (plus a few other places).  This is mainly to avoid the plethora of black options.  Has anything conclusive turned up to refute this line?
