I noticed that he completely omitted the Nc3 variation in the slow slav opening...

1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.e3 Bg4 5.Qb3 Qb6 6.Nc3! the most precise move is completely omitted in that book i wonder why.

The previous discussion here is: http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1234467027/all

Note Vigus' contribution to that thread.  The explanation is that when he wrote the book nobody had thought of 6...e6 7. Nh4;  others seem to transpose to lines he does cover.

7.Nh4 doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me,  but I'm just a patzer.

Thanks for spending your time for me in finding this link. Smiley

Actually i was referring to Avrukh's repertoire and he has recommended this particular Qb3 and Nc3 line against slav but there is no explanation for this is James Vigus book. Sad
