Chess & Gambling?

The Danish chess championship was decided during Easter, and one novelty was that you could bet on the individual games to set odds, as well as place a bet on the final winner.

I liked the idea of having set odds for every chess game just like for a football game, and don't think I've ever seen that before. At least not on a major betting site - I'd imagine that Danske Spil is the largest gambling site in Denmark and probably owned by the state(?).

How is it in other parts of the world?, do you have the option to bet on individual chess games and if so, on what level?

Betting on world championship games or top level tournaments sounds reasonable (though I've never heard about anyone cashing in on Fischer's or Carlsen's winning streaks, or anything like that), and going all the way down to a national championship with players ranging from +2500 down to 2300 sounds rather unique to me...
