I notice on the Quality Chess site that Aagard is bringing out five new books this year. The first listed, on calculation, runs 298 pages. How can an author come out with five books in a year of such length and guarantee a quality product.

His blog on the site provides some background to the contents and that helps explain what is inside and the approach taken.

I far as I know the material used in the books is collected over several years. So it’s not something he just made in a hurry.

Having looked at the book excerpt I see it is a series of problems derived from his teaching experiences. It looks fairly straightforward, though five books in one year is an unusual approach. He suggested, helpfully, that those wishing to purchase all five books at the same time may be able to work out a discount deal with their book seller. To tackle all five books would certainly take up a lot of time, but it all depends on what the buyer is looking for and how seriously he wishes to be in his goal to improve at chess.
