Slav vol 1 by Sakaev will be out next month and is for both sides.

Ladkawala's CE book and Kasimdzhanov's DVD are the most recent works, but I can't think of any works other than the Kasimdzhanov DVD covering the variation from White's perspective. I haven't seen the DVD but it is difficult to cover a variation in much detail in 60 minutes, so if you are rated over 2000 I'd supplement this with other sources.

This is actually a fair question.

The Slav Dutch Variation is also known as the Euwe Variation because he played it regularly, especially in his World Championship match against Alekhin.


The Dutch variation is:

 
1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. Nc3 dxc4 5. a4 Bf5 6. e3.

This is the nomenclature used by Flear, Burgess, and other authors on the Slav. 


Khalifman, in OFWAK vol. 4 considers the position after 5...Bf5 to be the Dutch variation. But most authors consider 6.Ne5 and 6.Nh4 (recommended by Khalifman) as three distinct variations.

Well, as I see it, you might find it useful to understand what Black is trying to achieve.


I dont like studying that way because if the book is meant for black then they will show all the sublines which white may play and how to equalize with black but i am not interested in the sublines which white plays(because i am going to play only one line) but instead i am interested in the sublines that black plays and i need to know how to play against each and every one of those lines...which will not be given in that book...thats why its not useful to me i hope you understand what i mean.

I am a huge fan of a series called Modern Chess Openings (as product of  tjhe Peshka series) or Chess Opening Encyclopedia (as online course) by Convekta (the people behind Aquarium). There is course called "Closed Games" for all variations after 1.d4 d5 which has more than 400 annoted games. I like how they illustrate the ideas behind the openings very clear and use many old master games so you get a feel how a system was introduced and changed over the time. Based on this knowledge i would then jump to a ChessPub subscription (at least that is my plan).

If you want to learn an opening you have to look for the typical plans. The Lakwadala book Move By Move does this at least on my level (~1900 FIDE atm) very well. Starting out gives plans and games from both sides. Both are working books. I like the first more because it explains more in plain text. 

Vigus is surely outdated in some lines. Giving a special black repertoire his general part with plans and special manouvres is still great and maybe it will be forgotten some day. But I'm sure a learning player can get a lot out of this book in some decades.

Search the pdf-excerpts via google, then buy one of the first two books according to your personal learning preferences. (I don't think videos teach really well.)

Maybe the more general opening books are more appropriate if your under 1600 Fide Elo. Watson's mastering series does a good job generally. Maybe someone else can tell his/her experiences with this kind of books.

Edit: The chesspublishing section gives a short pdf-introduction, but there are many commented games. If you work with databases this would be probably the most cost efficient method to learn plans and get a starting point for your own work over the slav with white. No book, but if you pay for one year it's very much (!!) good material for the money.

The Chess Explained book covers most lines for both colours. Of course, that means that it is not that thorough, but I guess it is comparable amount of material if not more than the 60' video.

Starting Out: The Slav - I found it good even for white some years ago when I wanted to know something about the Slav and how to fight against it.
  
Yusupov once said that “The problem with the Dutch Defence is that later in many positions the best move would be ...f5-f7” but he is surely wrong.

You can get Chess Explained: The Main-line Slav or Move by Move: The Slav, even though they are mainly written from Black's POV. Or a subscription to Chesspub, maybe?  Wink

Well, there was one of those 60-minute videos on it (by Rustam Kasimdzhanov) not too long ago, and I suppose book 1 of Sakaev's Complete Slav (due next month) could be interesting.
