Pussy Riot is a bunch of annoying attention whores indeed. You know, a civilized society doesn't send someone to a hard labour camp for three years for this. Somehow I don't think they will get millions out of that camp.

I am absolutely no fan of Kaspy, but here he deserves my respect. Defending the rights of those annoying girls is not only a sign of civilization but also well understood self interest. Next time it might be him.

Well, I just watched a bit of RT and guess what? Those girls have done all kinds of publicity stunts before for their group, they have have been causing trouble like this for years. They showed footage of them conducting an orgy in a museum (blurred but you could see one of the girls was very hot! ) , they at least videotaped a woman performing a sex act on a chicken at a supermarket, and they went around kissing female police officers against the police officers will. These girls are a joke, they already had Pussy Riot merchandise printed out in advance and will possibly make millions out of all this.   

No wonder they got such a sentence, possibly the judges were lenient on them before and they got off with warnings. RT may be Kremlin-backed and needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but I learned long ago not to trust the western media sources because they routinely neglect to mention very important things which change the picture completely. 
 

 
I think this whole fiasco is ridiculous. The girls trespassed on a place they weren't supposed to be, wore terrorist attire and desecrated a holy place, they are known trouble-makers from before also continually looking for attention. Now maybe the punishment is a bit harsh, injustices occur in every country every day. I just don't see the huge relevance of this or why it's getting so much media attention. 
  
"pussy" is a byword for "vagina" and that's how it's used in the name, right? I'm hardly one to get offended at small things, but excuse me if it's old-fashioned to not like hearing this double-entendre being stated over and over on the airwaves.  
 
And for some reason the news commentators seem to like saying it over and over. I wonder they subconsciously want to "prove" that they can say this word and are not put off by it. Maybe the media think "sex sells" as a rule, it's hard to think of why this is relevant. I don't think Kasparov should be getting so involved in this. I mean if this is the best the opposition to the "regime" can come up with when people are routinely dying from tazering in the US, it makes Russia seem like one of the best nations in the world.
