The local TV news had a story this evening that was so bizarre that I had to pass it on...  A man in North Carolina routinely parked his motorcycle on the street in front of his house with a cover over it to protect it from the weather.  One morning he discovered it missing and feared it had been stolen.  Instead he learned that the city trash collection truck had come by and supposedly mistaken the motorcycle for an old couch and had picked it up and crushed it!?  Apparently the wheels and mirrors sticking out from the cover didn't tip them off - but they did acknowledge that is was "really heavy."  To add insult to injury, the city didn't initially agree to have their insurance pay for the motorcycle but finally relented when the owner complained to the local news.
