hi,

thanks. I own several books on this topic - shame on me  Smiley - so i m a little critical before i' m going to spend 30 $ for a dvd. I think i ll visit my old friend houdini and ask him about 5...Nc6 instead of Mr. Bojkov

I think it's quite deep but your mileage may vary - it's still a DVD. It is tree-style but as I said above he also shows some games in the beginning as appetisers. He even gives a short overview of plans after most lines, not just "this is equal".

oh, thanks, i ve missed this. How "deep" is his analysis? It s quite common to step over the critical lines on such dvds a la ,oh, this is playable, uh, this might take further work to make this going. In my op, this is one (or the ONE)  of two or three really tough nuts to crack in the b6 stuff.

Hi,

interesting DVD! What does he recommend against 4.Bd3? 4...Nc6? 4...Bb4+? 4...f5?

This is the point, whether i m going to give it a try or not.

No, it starts at move 3. I like this DVD a lot, Dejan Bojkov is one of my favourite ChessBase presenters. It starts by showing some spectacular games (maybe 1 hr out of the total 5) and then goes on to show the theory move by move.  A lot of explanations and analogies everywhere. At the end he gives a 15-20 min recap of the whole DVD to make sense of it all. He makes clear that 4 Bd3 is the most dangerous option but gives respect to all variations.

Excellent  Smiley How is the coverage?

Does he also cover 1.c4 b6 ? After all, this was the main reason the English defence was created.

Hi guys, just seen this advertised on the Chessbase shop. It's a defence I've always been interested in and I'm wondering if anyone has ordered this yet.

For me, this defence holds up well in most lines, thd DVD therefore will be judged on how 1.d4 e6 2.c4 b6 3.e4 Bb7 4.Bd3 is covered. I'm assuming that 4...Nc6 will be the main recommendation.
