Actually the two "Sicilian with d6 and e6" books (Band A/B) are by Zbigniew Ksieski. I've only seen Band A, but indeed it looked quite good.

Schachverlag Kania is overall a quality publisher; it would be nice to see more of their titles in English.

Another book I'd like to see written in English is Sizilian mit d6 und e6, Band A which is written by the same author I think.

Yes, I have read it.  I still say the book awaits an English translation.

Kmoch wrote both the German and English versions. But as you suggest, very long on obscure words.

Right. I have it; it won't teach you to play like Petrosian. Colin Crouch's How to Defend in Chess has more of that aim.

Petrosian's Legacy was basically a compendium of articles by Petrosian. It was a great read, but it wasn't built around a single theme such as "strategy and safety".

Have you compared Petrosian's Legacy? I found most of the essays in Strategy of Safety in translation there.

Quite recently some of the well known non-english books have been translated (Hedgehog, Zürich 1953). I'm looking forward to the Terekhin book. (Should perhaps get the Kania edition instead.)

There was also an algebraic version of "Pawn power...". Don't know if it has the same translation.

For that matter, an actual English translation of Die Kunst der Bauernführung would be welcome.   Wink

"Pawn Power in Chess" - at Dover

Yes, I have read it.  I still say the book awaits an English translation.

Tartakower, Die Hypermoderne Schachpartie

Was Sokolsky's book on 1.b2-b4 ever translated into English?  I have a copy of the German edition, which is fairly easy reading even for me (I found the Tartakower nearly impossible).

I don't know how good it actually is, but I always wanted to see Kmoch's Die Kunst der Verteidigung translated.  For that matter, an actual English translation of Die Kunst der Bauernführung would be welcome.   Wink
